Epilepsy training



Target Group

Learners will be supporting individuals living with epilepsy and require knowledge of how to support those living with the condition, responding to seizures and rescue intervention in the event of the risk of status epilepticus.

Aims and Outcomes

To provide an understanding of epilepsy and the skills required to care for patients with the condition and how and when to administer emergency medication.

Course Content

By the end of the course you will:

  • Summarise what epilepsy is.
  • Describe different types of a seizures.
  • Identify different causes and triggers of epilepsy.
  • Provide basic first aid to a person during a seizure.
  • Demonstrate safe administration of Buccal Midazolam.
