Carers Allowance

Carers Allowance is a benefit for people who provide care for someone for at least 35 hours per week. You do not need to be related to or live with the person they care for. If you are a parent or guardian caring for a child or young person with special educational needs, a disability, or long-term illness, you may also be eligible. Go to Carers Allowance to find out more and check eligibility.

Additional income

 You can still claim Carers Allowance if you work part-time. However, your earnings must be below £197 per week after tax and national insurance.

Disability Living Allowance

If your child is under 16 and has additional care or mobility needs due to a disability, you may be able to claim DLA on their behalf.

Personal Independence Payments

PIP is for people aged 16 or over who have a long-term health condition or a disability.  PIP provides extra money to help with mobility or daily living expenses, with payments up to £184.30 per week.
