Walking in nature

Reading offers a wide range of walking routes through nature reserves, large parks and along the rivers. These walks give you the chance to enjoy green spaces, spot local wildlife and relax in nature – all within or near the town.

A flock of greylag geese by the River Thames, with several birds in flight and others gathered on the shoreline. The scene shows geese with characteristic grey and brown plumage and orange beaks and legs. In the background, you can see the river with people walking along grassy areas, bare winter trees, and what appears to be playground equipment. The lighting suggests late afternoon or early evening during autumn or winter.
