We have created an opportunity to hire Reading’s grand Concert Hall at a discounted rate. You can do this if you are a community or charity group who are celebrating a special anniversary. You can complete an application form giving details of your special anniversary and hire requirements.
Once we have received your application our panel will consider it. The panel will award the special hire rate to up to 8 groups per year. The deadline for applications is as follows:
Apply for special rate use of the Town Hall
Bar – Waterhouse Chamber
10am to 11pm on the day of the event
Ideally one in each of the following months: February, March, April, May, June, July, September – but with flexibility.
Each booking to be agreed and finalised 6 calendar months before the event date. Day in the week to be agreed.
£2,000 + VAT per one day event
Room, duty management and staff, technician, security and box office.
Catering – all in-house and paid for at current rate, no reductions
Own catering option of hire of servery – cost £500 + VAT (half normal rate). This only applies to brought in food (not drinks).
Beverages, soft drinks, alcohol all in-house only and charged at current rate.
All catering incurs VAT.
Included. All ticket sales are subject to a booking free which is included in the advertised price. This fee stays with the venue to help cover box office costs.
Public Liability Insurance. Town Hall currently requires cover to a value of £10 million.
Food Hygiene Certificates required if servery used.
Risk Assessments as is standard practice.
PA, microphones, LCD screen, stage extensions and other equipment charged for at the current rate.
Maximum capacity cabaret layout: 250
Maximum capacity theatre layout: 750
