Holocaust Memorial Day 2021 - online event

Wednesday 20 January, 7.30pm

Join us for an evening of reflection to remember victims of the Holocaust at his virtual (socially distanced) event.

The theme for Holocaust Memorial Day (HMD) 2021 is Be the light in the darkness’.

It encourages everyone to reflect on the depths humanity can sink to, but also the ways individuals and communities resisted that darkness to ‘be the light’ before, during and after genocide.

Keynote Speaker: Mr George Donath

A child survivor of Nazi occupation.  George Donath was born in Budapest in 1930. He was educated partly in Hungary and partly in the UK where he started his working career in the leather industry in which he remained all his life. He has worked in England, Morocco, Mexico, Puerto Rico and Australia, eventually returning to the UK in 1964 where he has lived since. He is married and has grown up twin daughters.
