Renting one of our garages

Complete our garage application form if you want to rent one of our garages. You will be added to the garage waiting list and contacted when a garage is available. Please note there may be garages available outside of your chosen area(s). Please email garages@reading.gov.uk for availability.

Prices

Rent is paid weekly.

• Band A: £20.30
• Band B: £14.90

Requesting a repair

You can request a repair for your garage online.

Alternatively, if your repair is an emergency, contact us on 0800 318 296 (Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm) or 0118 937 3737 (out of hours).

Ending your garage tenancy

When you wish to end your garage tenancy, please follow these steps:

1. Provide notice
   Give at least one week’s notice in writing via email to garages@reading.gov.uk or to the address below, before the tenancy ends.
2. Prepare the garage
   Ensure the garage is completely emptied, and swept (if required).
   Lock the garage securely.
3. Return the keys
   Keys must be returned by midday on Monday to avoid being charged for the week’s rent.
   You can return the keys in person at reception and request a receipt for proof of return, or send them by recorded delivery if posting to the address below.
4. Payments
   Make sure your rent is fully paid up to date.
   Cancel any standing orders or direct debits once your account is settled.
