Councillor vacancy in Caversham Heights

Notice of casual vacancy – Tuesday 17 March 2026

Notice is hereby given under Section 87(2)(b) of the Local Government Act 1972 that a casual vacancy has arisen in the office of councillor for the Caversham Heights Ward in the Borough of Reading.

How the vacancy is filled

There are two ways this can be filled:

Ask for an election

If you want a public vote to choose the new councillor, at least 2 registered voters in the area must request an election

If a valid request is received, the council will organise a by-election. This will take place within 35 working days.

How to request an election

You must make your request in writing (letter or email).
