Reading Cycle Festival

An annual, community-run festival celebrating, running each September that includes cycling in all its forms, from leisure riding to competitive racing. The event features activities for all ages and aims to inspire more people to cycle.

Reading Cycle Campaign events

Critical Mass: A community ride for change, meeting on the last Friday of every month at 7:30 p.m. outside the Civic Offices for a 40-ish minute ride around Reading.

Kidical Mass: Family-friendly rides promoting safer cycling for children, with a focus on fun and community. While regular summer rides have paused, they often coincide with local festivals. Check the Kidical Mass Reading website for specific upcoming ride details.

Cycling UK Reading social rides

Cycling UK Reading is a friendly club. It offers a range of social rides for all levels, from leisurely “meanders” to longer, more brisk options. Check their online ride calendar for the latest schedule and start points.

  • Sunday rides: Longer rides of various paces for different abilities, often including a stop for coffee or lunch.
  • Wednesday evening rides: Social evening rides to a local pub. Distances vary depending on the season.
