Cycling in Reading town centre

Reading has a number of cycling routes in the town centre which are colour-coded: 

• Town centre cycle routes (purple) – major cycle paths inside Reading town centre 
• Linking routes (Light brown) – cycle routes that link between the branded cycling routes 

      There are some areas to avoid cycling which are the pedestrian zone (yellow) 

• The town centre cycle routes links into other branded cycling routes travelling in all directions from the town 
• There is also a lot of cycle parking facility available in the town centre (lock icon) 

 The cycle routes in the town centre are also classified by type 

• traffic free cycle routes – (bold full line) 
• on road cycle routes in both directions – (dotted line) 
• on road cycle routes one way – (directional arrow heads)
