The borough of Reading (civil enforcement area) (town centre) (red route) (experimental) order 2020 amendment no.1 2020
Reading Borough Council under Sections 9 and 10, and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended has made an Order the effects of which are to introduce red route/a no stopping at any time restriction and waiting restrictions as detailed in the Schedules below. This has necessitated changing or revising existing Traffic Orders.

This Order was made on 16 December 2020 and will come into operation on the 4 January 2021 and modifies the existing Borough of Reading (Civil Enforcement Area) (Town Centre) (Red Route) Experimental Order 2020 which came into force on 6 July 2020 for a maximum period of eighteen months.
Copies of the experimental Order, statement of reasons and relevant map can be inspected online or via prior appointment.
The Council will be considering in due course whether the provisions of the Order should be continued in force indefinitely. Within a period of six months from 4 January 2021 (or from the coming into operation of any variation pursuant to Section 9 of the Act or modification pursuant to subsection (2) of Section 10 of the Act, whichever is the latest) any person may object to the making of an order for the purposes of such indefinite continuation.
Any such objection must be in writing, must give the grounds on which it is made and must be sent to highway.objections@reading.gov.uk
If any person wishes to question the validity of the Order or of any of its provisions on the grounds that it or they are not within the powers conferred by the Act, or that any requirement of the Act, or of any instrument made under the Act has not been complied with, that person may, within 6 weeks from 4 January 2021 apply for the purpose to the High Court.
