Free family fun walk around adventure at Prospect park – Elmer adventure and summer of football trails.
Starting from the Ranger Station. Elmer Hide & Seek Adventure Trail is a seven-stop outdoor adventure. Families follow a trail sheet, scan QR codes at each stop, discover which of Elmer’s friends is hiding there, collect hidden butterflies, unscramble a secret password and unlock a digital bonus prize. A sticker prize is also available from the Ranger Station whilst stocks last.
Summer of Football: Champion’s Quest is made for everyone — from football fans to puzzle lovers, selfie takers and little explorers who love spotting hidden details. Across seven stops, families can unlock mini games, try digital challenges, hunt for hidden symbols and decode a password to claim a digital activity pack.
The Ranger Station is a destination for activities, entertainment and learning for families and children from across Reading and beyond. Links for individual activities can be found at the bottom of the page.
Low rope parties
- Low rope parties are available Saturdays and Sundays
- Suitable for walking toddlers to 7 years old
- Children need to be 4ft and under to use the low ropes
- MAX 12 children – all with chaperones
- Exclusive use of the low ropes for approx. 45 mins (currently on Saturdays only)
- Low ropes party starts at 12.45pm until 1.30pm, party room 1.30 to 2.30pm when the party ends
- Party room included
Golf parties
- MAX 15 children
- Suitable for toddlers and upwards
- Chaperones can also participate
- Exclusive use of the golf course for 1 hour
- Wheelchair access and specialist putting equipment provided
- Party room included with your booking for an hour after the golf session
Climbing tree and soft archery parties
- To use the climbing wall and safely fit into the harness the participant must weigh between 40lbs and 250lbs
- MAX 12 children
- Suitable shoes must be worn
- Instructor led climbing tree for 1 hour
- Soft archery
- Party room included with your booking
- Full use of outdoor space for 1 hour, you can bring additional activities for your group (please let us know if you are bringing equipment)

3g football parties
- 1 hour exclusive hire on a 3g court
- Party room included with your booking for an hour after football court hire
