This year’s festival celebrates its 36th anniversary with three fun packed weeks of events and activities for children all over the borough. The festival gets off to an exciting start with Forbury Fiesta on Saturday 10 May, where there will be something for everyone to get involved with on the day. Reading Children’s Festival promises to bring plenty of fun, mayhem and madness.

Forbury Fiesta
10 May, 11am to 4pm – Forbury Gardens
We return to the Forbury Gardens for the launch of this year’s Reading Children’s Festival!
Attractions on the day will include children’s entertainment and workshops, charity and information stalls, tombola, refreshments, face painting, arts and crafts, balloon modelling and that’s not all. Check out our handy guide for our full schedule.

We are also inviting kids to join a Waterways Colouring Competition as part of Reading Children’s Festival 2025 in partnership with Kennet & Avon Canal Trust!
All you have to do is:
- Grab your sheet at Forbury Fiesta on 10 May or download it online.
- Colour your favourite design, take a picture, and share it on Facebook, Instagram or X — don’t forget to tag us! Alternatively email it to events@reading.gov.uk.
The winning masterpiece will be displayed at Water Fest 2025 on Saturday 28 June, and the artist will win a 1-day voucher for Ultimate Activity Camps!
