Where to find us

We are spread across 3 sites in Reading. Please carefully check the location of your appointment, ceremony or certificate collection point. 

Civic Centre 

Our Registration Service Main Office is based at the Reading Borough Council Civic Centre, Bridge Street, Reading RG1 2LU. 

We are open for appointments and enquiries Monday to Friday between 9am-5pm (Wednesday we are open between 10:15am-5pm). 

This is also the location of the statutory ‘Register Office’. 

Please note there is no on-site parking for customers. Our nearest parking is located at Holybrook Oracle Shopping Centre adjacent to our building. The service can be accessed via the accessible Council’s main entrance on Bridge Street. We are located in the Register Office which is on your right when you enter the building. Please check in via our self-check in tablet upon arrival into our waiting room or speak with our reception.  

Please note we apply a 10-minute late policy to all our appointments and customers may not be seen if they arrive past their allotted time and will be required to rebook. Please allow plenty of time to locate our offices and parking where needed.  

Reading Town Hall

Ceremonies (including citizenship ceremonies) can take place at our Ceremony Room and Forbury Room at the Reading Museum & Town Hall, Blagrave Street, Reading RG1 1QH. 

The Town Hall/ Museum is open between 10am and 4pm excluding Sundays. Please note we do not operate from this building unless ceremonies are taking place so cannot welcome walk-in enquiries at this site. Please visit us at The Civic Centre instead.  

Located in the town centre, both venues are well serviced by Reading Buses and train services. There is a 11 minute walk between the Civic Centre and Reading Town Hall. Find the route to Reading Town Hall.  

The Archives

Our Archive offices are located at Reading Cemetery and Crematorium Site alongside our Bereavement Services colleagues at Henley Road/All Hallows Road, Caversham, RG4 5LP. 

We hold all of our historic records at this site and the majority of copy certificates are produced here. Please check the collection point for your certificate order if you have requested collection when ordering. 

There is limited parking on site. Please go to the main office reception to check in for your appointment or collect a certificate.  

Occasionally we also hold registration appointments here. Please check your appointment confirmation email for clarification.
