Mayor of Reading to host a Reading-themed online auction for chosen charities

The Mayor of Reading, Cllr Rachel Eden, is working with local businesses and organisations to raise money for good causes in an online Mayoral Auction.

A wide range of Reading-based businesses and organisations have already pledged lots which include a headshot photo shoot from Viva Photography, a set by The Eric Tildiss Function Band, guided walks, a range of hampers, champagne afternoon tea for two at the Roseate and a silhouette portrait session.

The auction, which will open to bids on Thursday 1 December, will raise funds for the Mayor of Reading’s chosen charities – Parenting Special Children, ACRE and The Duchess of Kent Hospice (Sue Ryder Care).

It will also highlight and promote Reading’s vibrant charity, community, and business sectors.

Anyone who would like to donate a lot to add to the auction can do so up until Wednesday 23 November. There is a range of items to suit a range of budgets and many of the items are very suitable as Christmas gifts – although you might want to keep them.

An online catalogue will be open for viewing on Monday 28 November, to allow everyone a chance to browse and choose the items to bid on. Bidders will then have between Thursday 1 – Sunday 4 December to place their bids. The auction will close on Sunday 4 December when successful bidders will be notified.

Not-for-profit Charity auction specialist, Superstars, will be working alongside the Mayor’s team to run the auction.
