Adult social care training

We are pleased to offer a range of subsidised and fully-funded learning options to support the local social care workforce.   Our priority is to support Reading based organisations or those who have a social care contract with the Council, and we also provide fully funded training to personal assistants and unpaid carers.

For more details see our criteria for accessing training.

During the national lockdown we are suspending all classroom training courses, currently all courses taking place to the middle of February and this will be reviewed for course dates beyond then. Delegates booked to attend will be notified as there may be alternative virtual delivery available for some courses or online alternatives. All non-classroom training courses continue. You can continue to submit application forms for all courses to be added to waiting lists where appropriate.

In addition we offer a wide range of online learning opportunities that are provided free of charge to all organisations in Reading. Further information is provided below.

If you have a learning need that is not supported by our classroom or online offers, please contact the Learning and Workforce Development team  and we will assist you if we can, for example we may be able to signpost you to other resources.
