Adult social care training

We are pleased to offer a range of subsidised and fully-funded learning options to support the local social care workforce.   Our priority is to support Reading based organisations or those who have a social care contract with the Council, and we also provide fully funded training to personal assistants and unpaid carers.

For more details see our criteria for accessing training.

Classroom training sessions are offered where there is specific need for face to face learning, such as demonstration of practical skills.  All our classroom training courses have been risk assessed to meet government regulations on social distancing and safe working and we ask delegates to comply with all instructions sent from us and given by the trainer.  If a delegate is unable to attend due to showing any signs of Covid-19 or self-isolating our cancellation policy will not apply but you must inform us by emailing training@reading.gov.uk

In addition we offer a wide range of online learning opportunities that are provided free of charge to all organisations in Reading. Further information is provided below.

If you have a learning need that is not supported by our classroom or online offers, please contact the Learning and Workforce Development team  and we will assist you if we can, for example we may be able to signpost you to other resources.
